遇龙河风景区包括沿河两岸的带状景致。遇龙河发源于临桂县，全长42.5公里，其中以遇龙桥到青厄渡这一段风景最佳。主要景点有：犀牛塘、水厄风光、五指山、朝阳寨、仙桂桥、遇龙桥、归义古城遗址、汉墓群、东晕岩、八仙过海等近20处。
遇龙河，这条流着一江风情，一江灵气的“小漓江”，古称“安乐水”。传说很久以前，东海有条龙，巡游至此，见这如此胜境，觉得东海黯然失色，便潜藏下来不走了，这条龙晚上浮处水面贪婪地观赏美好地风光，后来忍不住有时白天也偷着出来，河边许多村民都曾见过。于是“安乐水”遂改名为“遇龙河”。

游览遇龙河景区，可采取两种方法：
1、竹排遇龙河漂流——起点为白沙金龙桥到大榕树，全长8公里，约4小时游程，两岸风景如画，河滩落差有致，有惊无险。（注意：若竹排无救生设施，请不要租用）。
2、徒步旅行——徒步旅行要些体力，但更可领略两岸旖旎风光，感受乡村美妙情趣。游程约4.5小时。
